1. Turn a blog post into an infographic

Infographics are a great visual content format for educating social media audiences - and even better for leaving them wanting more. The key? Ensure that you don’t just copy and paste the information from your blog exactly word for word. Make it concise and only include the most interesting points or statistics. Leave them wanting more.

Certain blogs will be better suited for one-page infographics, such as short bullet-pointed lists, whereas longer blogs will benefit more from carousels such as top tips, or how-to’s. Try experimenting with both and see which performs better. You can also direct them to your blog for more information, making for some excellent cross-platform promotion. 2. Turn client testimonials into graphics

Why not show off the good things your clients or customers are saying about you on your socials in a social media graphic? Many small business owners often feel unsure about how often they should promote themselves, but social proofing every once in a while can only do good things for your business and helps build brand awareness. As long as you aren’t posting about your products or services all the time, dropping in a testimonial every once in a while won’t hurt. 

Promotional content shouldn’t just be limited to your website! According to a report by Sprout Social, 90% of people follow a brand on Instagram that they buy from, so you can rest assured that most people that follow you are already a customer, or want to be. And if a potential customer doesn’t know much about you or your services - how will they become a customer or client? You can also add your client testimonials to your Instagram Highlights too. That way your Instagram can act as a virtual storefront and adds authenticity to your Instagram page.

3. Turn an e-book into a carousel 

Do you have any E-books, free or paid, on your website? If so, consider transforming them into a carousel or reel social media post. If it’s a freebie, it’s an excellent way of nurturing your follower base by showcasing the value you will give them simply for signing up for your newsletter or by going to your website. Most importantly, it will bring people to your website who may be more likely to browse or even make a purchase.

By continuing to nurture your customers with value, it’s also more likely to build their loyalty to you and your business. Alternatively, it’s if it’s a paid E-book you wish to promote, you can include tiny snippets of content, enough to pique their interest and direct them to purchase the full E-book in your caption. Quality content will speak for itself.

4. Turn a poll or Q&A into a blog 

Polls and Q&As on social media are extremely useful for obtaining user-generated content for future blogs, as well as gauging your audience’s thoughts and opinions on certain timely topics and issues which could influence your business and or products. If you’re stuck on content ideas, ask your audience what they think of a recent news story relevant to your industry/sector. Or if you’re after more specific consumer insights, ask how they consume content or use a certain platform. You’d be surprised what information will come out of asking your audience - often unexpectedly. And before you know it - a new blog idea is born.

An added bonus is that interacting with your audience also helps them feel heard. Just remember not to overdo it on the polls (I’m looking at you LinkedIn influencers) and try to come up with original and timely questions as much as possible. People will be more likely to engage with content that is original and thought-provoking than being polled on what they think about remote working for the 100th time.  Ensure you mix up the platforms you’re using as well. For example, try using Instagram polls for casual questioning and LinkedIn for more formal detailed insights.

5. Turn a blog into a reel or TikTok video

In the same way that blogs are brilliant for turning into infographics, they are also hugely effective for turning into video content for Instagram Reels or TikTok. Short-form videos are proving incredibly popular, with Instagram users reportedly spending 17.6 million hours daily watching Reels, whilst TikTok users are spending a whopping 197.8 million, according to a Meta document cited by The Wall Street Journal.

Although we already know that video is the future of marketing, coming up with original, timely and entertaining content for your audiences can be tough. By taking blog content you’ve already written you’re making the video creation process a whole lot faster. Remember to keep it fast-paced, short and concise. And don’t forget the music of course. It takes people just a matter of seconds to know if they’re going to scroll past your video or not. Make sure it's not yours!
